Nestlé Waters North America Inc. began in 1976 as a company that imported
the French sparkling water, Perrier. Nestlé Waters entered the lives
of Americans at a time when the country was looking to get in shape, eat better
and generally adopt a healthier lifestyle. Perrier became the choice for people
who wanted a refreshing all natural beverage that was free of calories, caffeine
and additives. By the early 1980's, Nestlé Waters started adding domestic
U.S. waters to its portfolio and rapidly became a dominant player in the US
bottled water market.
Today, Nestlé Waters North America Inc. is the largest bottled water
company in the United States, with many of the nation's strongest regional brands.
Among them are Deer Park and Zephyrhills in the Southeast, Poland Spring in
the Northeast, Ice Mountain in the Midwest and Arrowhead in the West.
